Algae bloom in Baltic Sea

This year, the intensive summer algal bloom in the Baltic Sea mainly occurred in July. As there was less cloud cover than last year, it was possible to observe how the bloom spread over almost the entire Baltic Sea.
Here we present two impressive images of the central Baltic Sea for 18 July (Figure 1) and 21 July (Figure 2).
