My questions related to ICOL:

1) Are the outputs of ICOL in TOA Reflectance as-per the ATBD, section 6.3.1.2 "Conversion of the TOA radiance in reflectance"? What are the units, 0-100% or 0-1?
2) Where can I find more info on the option “Where to apply the AE algorithm?

Parameter Options:
-PaeArea=<aeArea> The area where the AE correction will be applied.
Value must be one of 'EVERYWHERE', 'COASTAL_ZONE', 'COASTAL_OCEAN', 'OCEAN'.
Default value is 'EVERYWHERE'.

Dear Valentijn,

1) The ICOL AE algorithm works on reflectances. However, in case of Landsat, the output is always converted back to radiances. For MERIS, you can optionally write rhoTOA output as well.

2) the meaning is:
'EVERYWHERE': the AE correction will be applied to the whole image
'COASTAL_ZONE': the AE correction will be applied for pixels (land AND water) which are located less than 30km from a coastline. This is the area where the AE is regarded as significant.
'COASTAL_OCEAN': same as COASTAL_ZONE, but only for water pixels
'OCEAN': same as EVERYWHERE, but only for water pixels
