I seemed to have run into a problem using the CHRIS tools on Mac OS X. After installing the new versions of BEAM and CHRIS Box, I selected the Noise Reduction tool and nothing happened. No dialog box appeared. All other tools were grayed out, as expected, except TOA reflectance.

So, I tried TOA reflectance, and it appears to have run, although I have not check to see if the results look correct. Also, once that tool finished, the Noise Reduction tool was grayed out (just as all the other tools had been).

Did I do something wrong?

The current release of the CHRIS-Box is for BEAM 4.6.x only. It does not run with BEAM 4.7. We are going to release an update for the CHRIS-Box by the end of this week.

Hi Ralf,

I installed BEAM 4.6.1 on my Mac and reinstalled CHRIS-Box. The CHRIS tools do now show up on the menu, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to read the CHRIS data files. I know that BEAM 4.7 can read these files. Should I use it to convert the files to DIMAP format and then read them into BEAM 4.6.1? Is there a better work around for this?

There is no other workaround. You could wait for the CHRIS-Box 1.5 update, which also includes the geometric correction, couldn't you?

The CHRIS-Box v1.5 is now released for BEAM 4.7
