Processor Description - SEBS

Please note: The chapter BEAM Scientific Data Processors provides a general description for all BEAM data processors. It describes the common graphical user interface (GUI), the command-line interface and the common processing request file format.
You can find this chapter in the beam help area path
VISAT / Tools / Product Generation Tools / Data Processors

The SEBS In- and Output Parameter tab

  1. Reference height : Reference height in meters.
  2. Humidity: Specific humidity at reference height in kg per kg.
  3. Wind speed: Wind speed at reference height in meters per second.
  4. Temperature: Air temperature at reference height in degrees C.
  5. Pressure: Air pressure at reference height in Pa.
  6. Pressure at surface: Surface air pressure in Pa.
  7. BPL height: Height of the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) in meters.
  8. Horizontal visibility: Horizontal visibility.
  9. Solar radiation: Select this option by typing in a value for downward shortwave radiation in Watt/m^2 that will be applied to all pixels. Unselect the option if you wish the routine in SEBS to calculate a value for downward shortwave radiation using the elevation data.
  10. Input AATSR file: Select the input product file by either typing the product path into the text field or pressing the file selection item to invoke a standard file dialog. This input product must contain bands named btemp_nadir_1200 and btemp_nadir_1100
  11. Input SMAC file: Select the input product file by either typing the product path into the text field or pressing the file selection item to invoke a standard file dialog. This input product must contain bands named reflec_nadir_0870 and reflec_nadir_0670. These bands must be atmospherically corrected (use the SMAC processor on the AATSR product)
  12. Land use file: Select this option when you wish to use land use classes and associated vegetation height values on the estimation of the sensible heat fluxes. This input product must contain a band named land_use_class. You can type values into the text fields to change the vegetation height via Landuse Parameters Tab.
  13. Leaf area index file: Select the option to select the input product file for leaf area index. This input product must contain a band named leaf_area_index.
  14. Output product file: Select the output product file by either typing the product path into the text field or pressing the file selection item to invoke a standard file dialog.
  15. Output product format: Select one of the available output product formats from the combo box.

The SEBS processing request file

The following table describes the SEBS specific processing request file parameters. For a detailed description of the processing request file concept and file specification please take a look at the section general description inside the chapter BEAM Scientific Data Processors described at the top of this page.

Parameter name Description Mandatory Type Valueset
type (Request type) Request type identifier yes String "SEBS"
output_format The output product format to be used no String
