Description
Dear Brockmann Consult,
While analysing AATSR NR products with BEAM, we have found an inconsistency regarding LST data.
When the band "LST" is displayed in BEAM, data are only shown for some land pixels and this seems to correspond with the cloud flag, whereby cloud pixels are excluded, however an LST retrieval is actually performed for all land pixels.
This was introduced as part of the changes made for version 6.0 of the IPF. The changes for v6.0 redefined some confidence flags for L2 products. Bit 11 is now defined as the marginal cloud flag and indicates that the LST has been calculated even though the pixel is cloudy. Hence the land data should not be masked by the cloud mask anymore and all land pixels should be visible in the LST band displayed in BEAM. And the same applies for NDVI.
We suspect that BEAM was not updated accordingly when the IPF changes where introduced.
Could you look into this?
Kind regards,
Paula Marti
